So let’s say you’ve associated a ticket or deal to a handful of contacts. At the time the associations were made, you didn’t know who the decision maker among them was. But lo’ and behold, now you do know.
So how do you update the association label between the decision maker and the contact? With Associ8, It’s actually quite simple!
What do you need to update association labels?
For the purposes of this example, I have a
Contacts-to-Tickets association label called
Decision Maker in my HubSpot. I also have a single checkbox contact property of the same name that reads as
yes if checked. Finally I have an
Associated Ticket ID contact property that the ticket’s ID gets copied to when it gets associated with the contacts.
And guess what? That’s all you need! Now let’s get cracking!
How do you update association labels?
Now what do we need to happen here? Well, whenever the contact’s
Decision Maker property is checked as
yes, we need it to update its association label to its associated ticket to
Decision Maker. This can be accomplished with a quick workflow!
1. Create a contact based workflow.
2. Set the enrollment trigger to
Decision Maker is any of yes and
Associated Ticket ID is known.
3. Click the “
+” button beneath the enrollment trigger and select the
Associ8 - Contact action.
4. Under
Associated Object Type, select
Ticket.
5. Under
Associated Object Property, select
Ticket ID.
6. Under
Search Value, select
Associated Ticket ID.
7. Under
Associated Label, select
Decision Maker.
8. Click
Save and you’re done!
So what's going on here? If a contact is updated to be the decision maker but is already associated with a ticket, Associ8 will update the association label for you! It’s that easy. No need to do it manually. No need to double check and make sure you made all the updates.
Isn’t that better?
